Volunteer Work

September 2015

Every year, LGBC represented by the Awareness and Educational committee, takes part in Green apple day, an initiative from World GBC that happens in the last two weeks of September. It aims to spread awareness in schools about sustainable issues. This year it was a collaborative work with Dar al Handassah in Beirut.

Event details: visiting some schools in Lebanon, giving a presentation about a certain environmental topic, then doing a related exercise.

Our Group presented to a group of students from Sabis International School located in Adma, Keserwan. Our focus was on spreading awareness about the causes and effects of Land and Soil Pollution. In addition, there were 2 activities that the students helped out with: a paint moss graffiti on a 10x3m wall, and a vegetable planting where the students planted different types on vegetables and seeds on a small landscape on the school playground.

Testimonials

"

  • Never talk to a client about architecture. Talk to him about his children. That is simply good politics. He will not understand what you have to say about architecture most of the time. An architect of ability should be able to tell a client what he wants. Most of the time a client never knows what he wants.

  • If you have total freedom, then you are in trouble. It’s much better when you have some obligation, some discipline, some rules. When you have no rules, then you start to build your own rules.
