Given a problematic area such as Ouzai was very challenging.

The aim of the course is to research about Ouzai, find problems that need to be solved on the infrastructure level, as well as keeping in mind the residence/refugees and find ways to house the growing population.
The main aim was to keep the feeling of the commercial strip which is the identity of Ouzai. Since the beach was almost non-existent, bringing back the use of the beach was important as well as keeping it open to the public. These 2 entities go hand in hand, where the beach and the city connect together by means of stitching through different levels that lead you down to the beach. The area was researched based on: Roads(Road Categories, Road Structure, Social interaction in relation to Infrastructure, Program Distribution, Functions on Highway, Traffic according to 3 highways, High Speed vs Low Speed), Circulation(Highway Connection, Stairs, Paths), Transportation (Bus, Vans, Taxi), Drainage, Boundary, Water Supply, Electricity(Electricity Pole, Generators), Soft Infrastructure(Social, Economic).

Programs: Mosques, Commercial Strip, Hotel, Market Place, Orphanage. Hospital. Community Center, Public, Squares, Coffee Shops, Restaurants, and Sport Facilities.
